Talaria vs Sur-Ron vs RT-X: 2026 Head-to-Head

Quick verdict: The Sur-Ron Light Bee X wins overall on refinement and parts ecosystem. The Talaria Sting R MX4 wins on raw torque and price-per-watt. The RT-X 72V wins outright on top speed and is the only bike here that breaks 60 mph stock.

Sur-Ron: the refined incumbent

The Light Bee X has been the bike to beat for five years for reasons that don’t show on spec sheets. The frame geometry is dialed. The DNM forks are genuinely premium. Aftermarket support is unmatched — there are upgrade paths for every component. If you crash and need a part, three vendors stock it.

Talaria: the value challenger

The Talaria undercuts Sur-Ron on peak power and price-per-watt. The 45Ah battery is bigger. The catch: fork quality is a step down and resale is roughly 15% weaker because of weaker brand recognition.

RT-X: the speed king

If you want to flat-out outrun a Sur-Ron on a fire road, the RT-X is the answer. 72V architecture gives it a top-speed advantage no 60V bike can match. The downsides: heavier (172 lb), less refined feel, LTL freight only (excluded from free shipping).

Which should you buy?

  • You want a do-it-all e-MX bike with the best long-term ownership: Sur-Ron.
  • You want maximum torque for the dollar: Talaria.
  • You want top speed under $4K: RT-X.
